Albino Penis Envy

Origin: South America

Penis Envy is one of the most famous and powerful mushroom strains. This mushroom is a hybrid of the infamous Penis Envy, and Albino PF.

Amazonian

Origin: South America

Originally found in the Amazon, the Amazonian Mushroom is traditionally found in horse dung and rich soils under dense forest canopies.

B+

Origin: North America

The story behind the Psilocybe Cubensis B+ strain contains some mystery. The legend has it that a dedicated cultivator from Florida, called Mr. G., developed the strain

Brazilian

Origin: Brazil

Brazilian Cubensis is a species of magic mushrooms that are native to Brazil and some surrounding South American countries. Brazilian Cubensis is also a versatile mushroom.

Burma

Origin: Burma

The story goes that John W. Allen go the first specimen of this variety from a student in Burma & only grew one flush and today, all Burma spores can be traced back to that first grow.

Costa Rican

Origin: Costa Rica

This beautiful variety was found in the foothills surrounding Arenal Volcano, Costa Rica, at approximately 1000 to 1200 feet of elevation for a countless amount of years.

Ecuadorian

Origin: Ecuador

The Ecuadorian  Mushroom strain was initially found at 1100+ m of altitude in the Highlands Region of Ecuador.

The Ecuador is a popular strain for study by mycologists and biologists and is considered one of the most potent varieties.

Golden Teacher

Origin: No one is certain

The origin of these mushrooms are shrouded in mystery from some accounts stating the origin being Florida to other accounts claiming origin from Hawaii.

The exact origins are unknown but it is highly recognizable because of its golden caps with specks of yellow.

Hawaiian

Origin: Unknown

Despite its name the Hawaiian strain did not actually orginate in Hawaii, as no psilocybe cubensis mushrooms grow naturally there. The name itself interestingly enough is derived from the Hawaiian based company Pacific Exotica Spora, which was the first to offer spores of this strain.

Leucistic A+

Origin: Subtropical

The Leucistic A+ is named this way because it lacks pigmentation and it is a mutation of the Cubensis A+

Its origin is subtropical and it grows very well on substrates composed of cow or horse droppings, although it adapts to other environments.

Mexican (Escondido Region)

Origin: Mexico

The Escondido is one of the oldest and rarest strains of Psilocybe cubensis.

The mushroom hails from Puerto Escondido, an area in the state of Oaxaca, southern Mexico. Maria Sabina introduced this strain to the Western World- through ceremonies- and this is also why it holds a special place in many mycologist’s hearts.

Mexican (Oaxaca Region)

Origin: Mexico

Maria Sabina was a Mazatec curandera, or witchdoctor. She was well versed in the ancient arts of magic mushrooms and introduced the Western world to their consumption.

These Mexican magic mushroom strains still have the wild life of middle America in their genes, so you can expect large flushes with golden caps.

Natal Super Strength

Origin: Kwa-Zulu Natal

A rapid and aggressive strain with good genetics. They are Leucistic or albino often when collected outdoors. The mycelium is rhizomorphic and is quick to reach the colonization stage.

This strain is a good study for both beginners and experts.

Orissa India

Origin: India

This is an EXTREMELY large growing cubensis that is spawned from elephant dung.

This strain was brought to the Western World by entheo-mycologist John Allen. The Orissa India is also more resistant than the average P. cubensis to contaminations.

Penis Envy

Origin: Amazon?

PE mushrooms also have a fascinating origin story that has become somewhat of a legend in the psychedelic space, involving several high-profile names (like Terence McKenna), international smuggling, genetic mutations, prescription drug dealing, robbery, and murder!

It is said that Penis Envy originated from an exceptionally large and healthy mushroom found deep in the Amazon Rainforest, by fabled ethnobotanist, mystic, psychonaut, lecturer, author, and advocate for the responsible use of naturally occurring psychedelic plants—Terence McKenna.

Philosopher’s Stones (Tampanensis)

Origin: Florida

Psilocybe tampanensis is a mushroom which is known for its sclerotia-forming. Sclerotia (plural of sclerotium) are hard pieces of mycelium which the mushroom grows throughout the substrate.

These hard pieces mycelium- that look a bit like walnuts- have a much better resistance against bad influences that could cause delays in growing than normal (soft) mycelium. They offer protection in the form of a barrier again too high or too low temps, too high air humidity and dehydration.

Rusty Whyte

Origin: Uncertain

Rusty Whyte is a hybrid of Albino A+ and Columbian Rust spores.

Standing out among the golden hues of most magic mushrooms, they are a leucistic variety with a partial loss of colour but not full albino and like the Columbian Rust Spores, it drops red or rust colored spores!

So specimens are a beautiful white color and they leave a rust spore print, making it a must have for any spore collector.

Texan

Origin: Texas

Texans get their name because they originated in Texas USA and they are a speedy variety- colonizing quickly.

Occasionally it has also been known to produce almost leucistic caps compared to the usual orange caps.

Thai Koh Samui

Origin: Koh Samui, Thailand

This strain (as its name suggests) originates from the island of Koh Samui in Thailand.

It is very resistant to contamination- making it a really great choice for beginners- and it is also a very fast colonizing strain.

The caps of the Thai psilocybe Cubensis can be round to flat with a light yellow-brown to almost orange-brown colour- usually quite large with thick stems.

Thai Lipa Yai

Origin: Lipa Yai, Thailand

This strain was brought to the Western world by Enthomycologist John Allen from his travels through Thailand.

The Lipa Yai strain is similar to the Koh Samui strain in the fact it is a fast colonizer, is a strong resister to contamination, fruits very easy and fast, and is very potent for a cubensis. The big difference in the 2 is that the Lipa Yai grows taller and produces a lighter cap.

Treasure Coast

Origin: Southern Florida Gulf Coast

A very prolific fruiter, the Treasure Coast strain is noted for it ability to occasionally spin off albino, or near albino sub strains.

This strain often displays caps that are very lightly caramel colored, sometimes appearing white, if not true albino.
